Kat entered the courtyard, only to find it silent and empty. But she did not mind, for people found her weird anyways.
She sat down on an empty bench, the misty sunrise satisfying her lonely self. She knew that no one would be here, because everyone was too busy with breakfast.

Daniel walked into the courtyard from the cafeteria. He certainly wasn't in the mood to go back to work, so he thought about taking a walk. He noticed the blonde girl sitting alone on the bench. He thought that was a good idea, just sitting and staring, so he took a seat next to her, not saying anthing. He needed to sort things out in his head.

Kat noticed Daniel seat himself without turning even her head to face him. She sat for a moment, enjoying the silence. "I'm not...hungry...." she suddenly announced.

Daniel gave her a questioning look, then turned back to whatever it was he had been staring at. "Yeah, me neither." Of course, he had just ate, but that didn't seem to matter much.

"DON'T FIRE ME!" Out of NOWHERE! Jacques ran into the courtyard, waving his hands furiously in all directions, a look of stricken dismay on his face. He stopped in front of Herr Remmington and took a second to catch his breath. He glanced at the skinny girl beside him, but disregarded her and spoke again. "I'm very sorry, Herr Remmington. I never should have hit you, it was unjustified. And I know Lily said we couldn't go near each other, but this is, you know, to promote peace in the workplace." He stared at him, wide eyed and scared looking- but perhaps a little less scared than usual?

Daniel started at the sudden interuption of the quiet. He listened to what the frantic man was saying, and replied with the only thing that came to mind, "What?" Hadn't they been over this before? As in, about ten minutes before?

"You- I'm-" Jacques lost steam, and petered out halfway through his thought. Daniel looked totally confused, and Jacques realized that in fact it was rather idiotic of him to come over here to apologize. "I'm sorry." he said again, but this time apologizing for the original apologizing thing. Rather at a loss for what to do, he sat down on the ground next to the bench.

Alright, then. Daniel thought as the butler finally took a seat on the floor. He really didn't seem like much a floor person. Daniel went back to his thinking, but it was somewhat contaminated by the newcomer. Aren't we supposed to be staying away from eachother? What was it exactly she said? "I don't want to see you two anywhere near eachother except" blah blah blah. So... does it count if Lily doesn't see? He checked over his sholder just in case, then said, "She said she didn't want to see us together. So, does it count if she's not here to see?" His characteristic grin had returned; it usually did when he was breaking some kind of rule just because the rule was there.

Jacques, for some unfathomable reason that probably had to do with his natural temperment, blushed. "Non, I think we're safe." His red face only got redder. To distract himself, he looked down at his legs, which were crossed on the dirt. Wait, what- "Oh G-Gott!" He nearly shouted it, but managed to contain his voice slightly. He sprang to his feet, shaking out his legs and brushing the dirt off his jeans frantically. Then he sat down on the bench beside Daniel and cleared his throat. "Sorry. Again." he muttered.
((The bench is getting crowded, isn't it? *winks*))

Daniel laughed at him, "If I remember correctly, in your interview you said you didn't mind the outdoors."
This bench wasn't very large to begin with, and now with three people on it they were forced to be pretty much sholder to sholder. For some reason, Daniel was getting an odd feeling in the pit of his stomache. It was hard to describe, like it's own unique thing with no word for it. He drooped his head down and stared straight ahead, trying focus on something, anything else, but it wasn't working.
((*pushes Kat off the bench*
Writing this was weird...))

"I do!" Jacques retorted. "It's beautiful and stuff you know. I used to go camping when I was a kid, and also I used to... sleep outside a lot." He glanced away for a second, then his attention returned to Daniel. "But I'd really rather not sit in the dirt." There was that verdammt blush again. It wasn't embarrassing to admit that you didn't want to get dirty, so why did he feel so embarrassed? He shifted a bit from the edge of the bench, but found there really wasn't room to shift. His embarrassment (WHY OH WHY?!) just got worse.
((Jacqui's cuaght in a FIBBBBB!))

"Suuure." Daniel said, still staring at the ground. The feeling wasn't going away. It wasn't getting worse either. It was just... there, which he instintively knew felt worse than if it would grow. Because after it grew enough, it would go away. Like... There was still nothing he could think of to compare it to. Maybe there was something in the air? The mist? No, that was crazy. Maybe he was suddenly claustrophobic. That could be it. He stood and stretched, then turned his head so he was looking back at Jacques. "Want to take a walk?" he asked.
((The punishment for fibbing is the amazing picture I just drew. Let's just say it involves Daniel, Lily, and a couch. >D))

Jacques jumped a little when Daniel stood up without warning, and nearly jumped again when he asked about a walk. To his confusion, his mouth suddenly made noise by its own volition. "Sure, why not?" He definetely hadn't said that. He stood up and stood alongside Daniel. He really had to get some muscle control, this was getting ridiculous. He didn't want to take a walk with Herr Remmington! "Where to?" Where else but the dark forest, you idiot! Why did his mouth keep saying these things?
((?!?!?!WHUT?!?!?! And as punishment for that... heh heh.... MweheheheHEHEHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAAAA! In other words, I've got nothin'.))

Daniel thought the feeling might go away after he was off the crowded bench, but it didn't. It just stayed how it was, and it was killing him. He looked around the courtyard. "There." he pointed to a random path that did in fact lead to the forest. "Let's go." He made his way for the trail.
((He may not want to go on a walk with Herr Remmington, but he so wants to go on a walk with Daniel. ;D))

Jacques followed him, though the trail was very dark. And dangerous looking. And- Why was he following him anyway?!
