The Brat Table

Alice placed her plate and her cutlery (plastic, ugh) on the sticky cafeteria table, making a face at how low-class everything was here. I swear, if it hadn't been for Choi I would have stayed in LA. Should have stayed anyway. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
She sat down, smoothing her pant legs and sitting up straight. Good posture is the mark of good breeding! She picked up the knife and fork and cut into the pancake. It was still warm when she put a bite in her well-glossed mouth, and she closed her eyes to savor the taste better. The breakfast item was smooth without being wet, and with a slight burn on the very edges that added all the neccesary texture. The maple syrup tasted like corn syrup, but somehow the rich, exclusively "pancake" flavor of the pancake made up for it.
That maid girl almost deserves a heartfelt "thank you" for this!
Not that anyone would ever know.
Alice finished the pancake and dabbed at her mouth with the coarse paper napkin.

Aiesha returned to her seat. "It looks great." she commented before cutting off a piece. It was good! Better than any pancake she had ever made. She looked at Alice, "Good?" she asked.

"I guess," Alice said snidely, taking out her cell phone reflexively.
Shoot. Still no texts.
Annoyed, she put her cell phone back in her bag.

Cos he's hardly eaten any food for two days.

Jacques sidled over to the table, looking nervous as per usual.
He cleared his throat to announce his presence. "Uh, good morning, ladies. Mind if I sit here?"

Alice saw her oppurtunity and took it.
"Sure, but-" she put out an arm to stop him from sitting down. "Could you do something for me? When you're done, I mean?" Without waiting for a reply, she elaborated: "I need you to find Seth Heidrick and give this to him." She pulled the letter out of her bag and pushed it into the butler's hand. "Thaaaanks."
Then she abruptly got up and left the cafeteria.

Aiesha stared at Jacques with slightly narrowed eyes while she absently forked pancake into her mouth. She swallowed and asked rather bluntly, "Jacqui. Are you gay?"

((She's a fujoshi. That is my explanation. *nods*
Poor Jacqui. He's like Kris. He just gets made fun of.))

Thomas smiled at the group as he sat down. "Hello all." He pushed his glasses up and dug into his breakfast, feeling more hungry than he had expected. The granola bar hadn't been as filling as he had anticipated.

Jacques paused, fork halfway between his plate and his mouth.
Oh my Gott, wie fand sie heraus? I am so dead. I shouldn't have worn the sweater. What was I thinking?
"Um, my name is Jacques, not Jacqui," he said, to avoid the inevitable. "And, um..."

"And, umm what?" she pushed, leaning in somewhat. She grinned playfully. His hesitation gave her the answer, but she wanted to hear it, just to make sure she wasn't reading to much into anything. It was often the case, like with that poor fellow at the pier...
